Our shared text is 'The Secret Garden', by Frances Hodgson Burnett, which is classic fiction.
We will continue reading 'Beaver Towers' by Nigel Hinton voted for by the class and 'Where My Wellies Take Me' by Claire and Michael Morpurgo, for its' poetry and inspiration for our own scrap books.
We planted our class garden at the end of last term and we shall be checking our plants and hoping for a healthy crop of tomatoes! [If so, we shall cook pitta pizzas...]
In Science, we will focus on the life cycle of flowering plants, food chains and habitats.
In Maths, we continue with our Singapore Maths approach and we shall be learning Division, Fractions and Geometry.
Linking English, Art and DT to our Woodland Day activities, we will be finalising text, pictures and drawings to complete our own 'Where My Wellies Take Me' scrap books.
Half way through the term, onTuesday 20th June, we will make an Educational Visit to Groombridge Place to study the gardens and their Woodland areas, details to be confirmed.
Our Wodland Day this term will be Tuesday 4th July.
