Skylarks Term 6
We're starting off term 6 with looking at 'Our Wonderful World' and Skylarks are looking at the importance of trees and why we need trees. Why are so many trees being cut down in the rainforest? What can we do to be more environmentally friendly?
During drama lessons Skylarks have been learnt a poem about friendship and have also been working in groups acting out some well known fairy tales, 1 with a slight twist - Digbylocks, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs and The Enormous Turnip. Below are some pictures of the children showing their acting skills to the rest of the school.
Skylarks' and Bramblings' Woodland Day!
We had a very enjoyable day in the woods, it took us an about an hour to walk to our usual spot. When we arrived children worked in groups to make habitats for a woodland animal of their choice. All groups worked really hard and there was good team work all around. Some of the homes that were created even had cinemas and a hot tub! It was very hard to judge a winning home so Bramblings were all given a dojo and Skylarks had stickers. After all that hard work both classes had some time to play then we all sat down to lunch before walking back to school. The walk back was very tiring, it was such a hot day that we all struggled but we took our time and drank lots of cold water when we arrived back to school.
